Area of residence in Tiny Township: Cawaja Beach-Owner- Backlot

Andrew Ironstone confirms his intent to run for municipal office in Tiny Township in 2026 for the position of Deputy Mayor

Short Bio: Hi everyone, my name is Drew Ironstone and live in Tiny Township in the Cawaja Beach area.
I have lived here as a full-time resident with my wife Paula and my two pups and one cat (animal lover) for the last 16 years. We chose this area for so many reason including the serenity, safety, affordability, beaches, and the natural beauty of our little piece of heaven.
My first swim at the age of 7 months old and was at our family cottage in Ardmore Beach (between Balm and Cawaja) which was purchased way back in the late 1930's by my grandparents.
Since then, I've spent practically all my summers here enjoying our pristine waters of Georgian Bay, family get-togethers, walks after dinner, and enjoying the smells from the cedar trees, the beach, and the lingering smell of BBQ's in the air.
Tiny Township has always been 'in my blood and my 'happy place'.
Since enjoying an early retirement recently, I remain thankful each day for having such connection and grounding to the area, and realize how critically important it has become to protect our natural heritage, affordability, and our 'way of life' for my family, and all residents, cottagers for our family's futures here in Tiny.
Financial prudence in planning and spending, sensible balanced policies and bylaws, open community engagement, and truly 'having your VOICE matter and respected' by our elected representatives on Tiny Township Council, is NOT OPTIONAL but rather needs to be a MANDATORY PRIORITY for our next Council.
This is my driving motivation in running for Tiny Township Council as your Deputy Mayor.
My pledge to all taxpayers and your families, is to act in your best interest for the future of Tiny, financially, morally, openly and focus on your priorities ahead of all else.

Relevant background experience: I have an extensive management & technical background in the municipal and provincial sectors focused on capital planning and asset management, financial management (forecasting, budgeting, monitoring) , long-term planning, construction project specifications/ design/ tendering/oversight management, and facilities/ maintenance management for large scale portfolios.
Until my recent retirement my career was largely devoted to public service
