Who is the TinyTRA Election Committee (TTEC)

This initiative is led by a committee of seven members of the TinyTRA who have come together to form an Election Committee for the 2026 municipal election.

In 2022, many residents felt frustrated by how the election was conducted. Misinformation spread too easily, and organized slates of candidates limited voters’ ability to choose individuals based on merit. We believe that slates undermine democracy and that the Township of Tiny deserves a fair, transparent process where the best candidates are elected on their own strengths and ideas.

Our mission is simple:

  • Provide clear, accurate, and accessible information about the election process.

  • Ensure that all candidates are given equal opportunity to share their platforms with residents.

  • Help both full-time and part-time residents understand their voting rights and responsibilities.

  • Promote a democratic, non-partisan system where voters can make informed decisions.


Our Legal Status

TinyTRA is a properly filed incorporated not-for-profit community organization. We maintain appropriate insurance and governance structures to operate responsibly in an increasingly volatile and litigious political environment.

We have registered with Elections Ontario as a Third Party Advertiser under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

This registration means:

  • Our activities are regulated by provincial law

  • Our advertising and spending are subject to limits and reporting requirements

  • Our conduct is overseen by an independent electoral authority

We welcome this oversight. Transparency and accountability are foundational to our work.

We are committed to creating a space where residents can find reliable information, free from bias or misinformation. By doing so, we hope to empower the community to elect a Council that truly reflects the interests of everyone in the Township of Tiny.
