Karen Zulynik confirms her intent to run for municipal office in Tiny Township in 2026 for the position of Deputy Mayor

Short Bio:
For years, I have stood on the front lines alongside our community, fighting for taxpayers and demanding accountability from local government.

I have attended approximately 100 meetings of council and committees in  chambers, analyzed thousands of pages of budgets, staff reports and consultant reports line-by-line, and uncovered critical facts through detailed Freedom of Information requests. I asked questions.

When Tiny residents faced their first massive capital expenditure and diminishing public input, I launched, along with a team of like-minded people; the Stop The Build movement.

I started the movement so people could have accurate information and speak out on it.

When our right to voice concerns was challenged, I took action to defend free speech and community input.

Watching from the gallery is no longer enough—meaningful change requires a voice directly at the council table.

I am running for Deputy Mayor to bring financial discipline back to Tiny Township, protect public consultation, and ensure municipal spending reflects your priorities.

My Key Priorities:

  1. Stop Runaway Taxes: Cap and freeze tax increases wherever possible, make municipal government live within its means, and protect seniors on fixed incomes and working families from unsustainable burdens.

  2. Put the Admin Build to the People: Secure verified, transparent figures on the proposed administration building and present fiscally responsible options directly to residents for real community input.

  3. Real Financial Oversight: Create a volunteer, citizen-led finance committee, implement annual resident budget surveys, and put an end to surprise capital expenditures.

  4. End Closed-Door Politics: Curtail unnecessary in-camera meetings and return to open, transparent decision-making.

  5. Restore the Public's Voice: Host regular public town halls and remove restrictions on resident delegations and public input.

  6. Fix Core Infrastructure First: Direct municipal funds toward essential needs—roads, drainage, culverts, and flood prevention—before discretionary or vanity projects.

  7. Protect Tiny's Natural Heritage: Safeguard our forests, shorelines, and wildlife through responsible planning, community-led stewardship, and an active environmental committee.
