Area of residence in Tiny Township: Balm Beach
David Evans confirms his intent to run for municipal office in Tiny Township in 2026 for the position of Mayor
Message: Opening Statement
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the TinyTRA Candidate Values Questionnaire.
I appreciate residents taking the time to ask candidates direct questions. These issues matter, and residents deserve clear answers.
My approach to municipal leadership is practical and steady. Local government is not about slogans or political theatre. It is about service, facts, accountability, and getting important work done.
Too often today, the easiest way to get attention is to say something extreme, careless, or inflammatory. That may generate a reaction online, but it does not help residents understand the facts or solve real municipal problems.
Tiny is changing. We are no longer simply a small seasonal community, but we are not an urban municipality with a large, fully serviced tax base either. The Township has no municipal sewage system, municipal water is limited to approximately 25% of properties through 16 independent systems, and the Township has more than 450 kilometres of roads to maintain. That affects almost every major decision we make — taxes, roads, water, housing, environmental protection, recreation, emergency services, and economic development.
My goal is to protect Tiny’s character while planning properly for the future. That means protecting our shorelines, forests, rural areas, and community identity, while also dealing honestly with infrastructure, service levels, health care, public safety, and the cost of running the municipality.
